“Hi, Dad” is a poem about the Loss of a Father from a Daughter. It shows how art therapy and grief recovery can lead to something beautiful.
Sing with a country sound and Heal in Harmony. Happy Father’s Day!
“Hi Mom I’m on TV”
Oh you and I know that will never be me
Yea, Hi Dad that’s what my sign will read
Oh That’s what you’ll see on that TV screen
I wrote Hi Dad in sand and stone, Oh Pacific or Atlantic I was never home
Yea, I wrote Hi Dad instead of picking up the phone
Oh, I’m a daddy’s girl down to the bone
Learned to change oil in the snow and chop wood in the wind
That’s my dad he taught what he knows
Oh, it’s simple now as it’s ever been, Linds
Truth and love they’ll will always win
I say Hi Dad when I feel alone
Cause I haven’t found a man worth bringin home and its seem finded one is gonna take me awhile
You wont be here to walk me down the isle that’s ok because it’s gonna be a little while
I say Hi Dad and send it up high every time I see a hawk fly by
Hi Dad it’s ok you’re never comin home I hear your voice in saved messages on my phone
I might have missed those calls but Hi Dad I’ll be ok
Cause, I’m a daddy’s girl right down to the bone
Learned to change oil in the snow and chop wood in the wind
That’s my dad he taught what he knows
Oh, it’s simple now as it’s ever been, Linds
Truth and love they’ll will always win
I say Hi Dad, when the dogwood blooms grow
As the flowers push past that last bit of snow
Don’t ask me how but somehow my soul knows
That it was time for you to go
Hi Dad, I know you’re ok
And, I think about you more than just on father’s day
Like when I sip black raspberry homemade wine I relive those memories of sweet summertime
Like watermelons ripened by sun on the vine Like savin turtles from the road I’ll be just fine
And when I’m not I just stop and say
Hi Dad, I’ll see you again someday and feel the love you send my way
Yea I’ll say Hi Dad when I see you again but until then I’ll sing our hymn.
Hi Dad I’m ok
Cause I’m a daddy’s girl right down to the bone
Learned to change oil in the snow and chop wood in the wind
That’s my dad he taught what he knows
Oh, it’s simple now as it’s ever been, Linds
Truth and love they’ll will always win
Hi Dad I know I am not alone but I miss your voice on that telephone
Oh, what a sweet reunion it’ll be, I’ll ask
Dad, Did you see my sign on TV
Yea “Hi Dad,” That one was me
And you’ll laugh and say, Yea I know.
Cause your my girl right down to the bone
And you know Linds, It’s simple now as it’s ever been
Oh how a Fathers love it’ll always win
Yea a father's love it’ll always win
